Aims

To meet the statutory requirements and the governing body requirements of those working within the childcare sector with children 8 years or younger.

Client Group

This training is for anyone working with children 8 years or younger. It meets the Early Years foundation stage STA guidance and OFSTED requirements.

Award

This qualification is awarded by SQA recognised awarding body ITC, who also hold a HSE license. Certificate of competence is valid for 3 years on successful completion.

Course Content

Unit 1 Paediatric Emergency First Aid

• CPR
• Choking
• Managing incidents
• Dealing with collapse

Unit 2 Paediatric Emergency First Aid Further Care

• Paediatric illness and injury management

Appropriate clothing must be worn as you will be taking part in practical demonstrations.

Candidates must bring identification.

Assessment

To successfully complete the training you must attend all sessions. Candidates are assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real life’ skills benchmarked to National Occupational Standards. Unit 2 must be completed within 6 weeks of beginning unit 1.

This Course Costs £120.00 per person. All fees are VAT exempt and include morning and afternoon refreshments.
