Aims
The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 states that all
Premises Managers must hold a valid personal
licence or alcohol cannot be served. In order for
an individual to be granted a personal licence
they must have evidence of a licensing
qualification such as Certificate for Personal
Licence Holders Scotland. City & Guilds and
ServeWise have worked closely with the Scottish
Government to jointly develop the 7104
Certificates for both On Sales and Off Sales use.
The qualifications have been specifically
designed to ensure that they enable learners to
develop their knowledge of the requirements
concerning the new Scottish Government
Personal Licence, gain an understanding of the
licensing process in Scotland and the roles and
responsibilities of individuals and organisations
involved in the process. This includes learning
the differences between types of licences
available in Scotland and the duties and
responsibilities of licence holders.
